On Friday, Karnataka registered a positive testing rate of 4.86%, which for the first time has fallen below 5% since the first week of April. As several new instances (8,249) were reported of infections, 14,975 persons were recovering.
In Bengaluru, both the trend and the active incidence in Bengaluru decreased to 91,760. In the previous 24 hours, the state capital saw 1,154 new illnesses and 4,769 recoveries.
Furthermore, 159 fatalities were attributed by the State Health Department to Covid-19, 48 of them from Bengaluru. Mysuru (20), Haveri (10), Ballari and Dharwad (9), and Shivamogga were other districts that recorded maximum deaths.
