On Wednesday, Jitin Prasada, Senior Congress Leader, joined the Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Union Minister Piyush Goyal and MP Anil Baluni have been admitted into the party. The BJP introduction of Prasada was seen to be an important gain for the party before the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
For a long time Prasada, a significant Brahmin in the administration of UP, was contrary to the leadership of Congress. The “Brahmin Chetna Parishad” was introduced in July of last year by Prasada to make a voice for the community of Brahmin. He served in the government of UPA-II.
