Makhan Lal Bindroo, the proprietor of a well-known Srinagar pharmacy, was shot and killed by suspected militants inside his store in Iqbal Park on Tuesday, according to police.
The intruders shot Bindroo, 68, at point-blank range while he was dispensing drugs at his pharmacy, according to a police official. He was airlifted to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Bindroo, a Kashmir Pandit, was one of the few members of his community who did not flee Kashmir after the militancy began in 1990. He and his wife stayed behind to continue running their pharmacy, Bindroo Medicate.
