Babul Supriyo, a former Union Minister, stated on Saturday that he was disillusioned with the BJP, of which he was a part until recently, and that he resigned because he did not want to be benched.
Mr. Supriyo told NDTV, “I did feel disillusioned…the seven years of hard effort that I put in…not even my enemies will argue that I have not battled in Bengal or done good enough for the party.” Mr. Supriyo, who accepted full responsibility, stated that he was fully aware that the political opposition will “say anything it wants” about his “big U-turn.”
