In the wake of Captain Amarinder Singh’s announcement that he was “leaving” the Congress, Harish Rawat, the AICC’s Punjab in-charge, advised him to “rethink” his decision and not aid the BJP in any way.
Rawat denied that Singh had been shunned by the Congress, saying that the former Punjab chief minister’s recent utterances sounded as if he was under “some pressure.” ANI quoted Rawat as saying that “No facts in reports that state Captain Amarinder Singh was insulted by Congress. It appears from Captain’s recent statements that he is under some sort of pressure. He should rethink, and not help BJP directly or indirectly.”
