Central authorities have declared that a cost of Rs.80,000 cr rupees will be spent on vaccination and foods to supply to the millions amid the pandemic.
The government would set aside an additional 700 billion rupees till November to provide food to the poor and other qualified groups, according to the sources, who requested not to be identified since the figures aren’t public. According to them, the administration would require an additional 100 billion rupees to deliver free immunizations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi agreed Monday to give free vaccinations, changing a strategy in which states competed for supply for particular age groups, resulting in chronic shortages.
