In a charge sheet submitted by the CBI in a case flagged by the Supreme Court earlier this year, the driver and helper of the auto-rickshaw that ran over and killed a judge in Jharkhand in July have been charged with murder.
Driver Lakhan Verma and his aide Rahul Verma were detained a day after a three-wheeler ran down judge Uttam Anand, 49, in Dhanbad on July 28, with CCTV footage indicating it was more than a hit-and-run. The two individuals have also been charged with breaking a law prohibiting evidence disappearance and providing false information.
