Amikacin Sulphate, an antibiotic, may have been supplied to hundreds of individuals ‘inoculated’ on several vaccination programs held in Kolkata by accused fraudster Debanjan Deb. Debanjan’s Kasba office was not taken by the vials Covishield stated on Thursday from the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC).
The samples used by Deb had labels with Covisheld written on them, said Ranita Sengupta, KMC’s deputy chief medical officer. They had no batch number, date of production, expiration date, or name of the business. They mentioned simply “recombining vaccination.” The bottles were also smaller than those of Covishield.
