An earthquake of moderate magnitude jolted the Ladakh area on Wednesday evening, according to an official. A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck around 1705 hours (7:05 p.m.), according to a local meteorological department official citing the National Centre for Seismology.

The earthquake had a range of 110 kilometers, a longitude of 75.18 east, and a latitude of 36.01 north, according to the official. Official sources claimed that while no destruction has been reported so far, the incident has sparked worry among the public. (GNS)
