The administration of Dubai said on Monday that it had inked an agreement to improve infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, at a time when the region is experiencing a revival of violence. The value of the agreement was not specified.
Following the abolition of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status and separation of the state into two Union Territories, Dubai, part of the United Arab Emirates, has signed the region’s first investment deal.
Dubai would create infrastructure such as industrial parks, IT towers, multi-purpose buildings, logistics centers, a medical college, and a specialty hospital, according to the government.
