New Delhi | Delhi police have stepped up security across the national capital after authorities recovered around 360 kilograms of suspected ammonium nitrate, along with a cache of arms and ammunition from Faridabad in Haryana. The weapons were found at a rented accommodation of a Kashmiri doctor named Dr Muzammil, who was arrested in coordination with Jammu and Kashmir police.

The move comes in the wake of a high-intensity explosion that ripped through a car parked near the Red Fort. Monday evening, setting multiple vehicles on fire and shattering windows in the surrounding area. Several people are feared injured prompting increased vigilance.

Police have strengthened checks at all border points linking Delhi with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Security has been intensified in sensitive areas including railway stations and metro premises. District units, including the Special Cell and Crime Branch have been placed on high alert. Teams are conducting random inspections of vehicles and lodges near the Delhi-Haryana border. Extra pickets have been deployed at Singhu Tikri and Badarpur borders while patrols have been increased.

Authorities continue to investigate the explosive seizure and are monitoring security measures across the city to prevent further incidents.
