According to official sources, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has extended thanks to her Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, for successfully removing her people from Ukraine during the Russia-Ukraine conflict. After Russia proclaimed a temporary truce from 10 a.m. on Tuesday (Moscow Time), India began rescuing its trapped people from Ukraine’s Sumy to Poltava under ‘Operation Ganga’. The truce was implemented to build humanitarian corridors in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Mariupol.
Nine Bangladeshis were also rescued from Ukraine as part of the mission. It also attracted students from Nepal and Tunisia.
