Assam reports 3,706 new Covid-19 cases, with 4,835 recoveries, and 33 deaths in the last 24 hours. For now, there are 35,631 active cases. According to the Health and Family Welfare Department of Assam Government, “Assam has been at the forefront of the fight against Covid-19 since the first patient was detected on 31st March 2020. The State has successfully combated this disease by following all health protocols and guidelines issues by WHO and MoHFW.”
As of 18th June 2021 statistics, there have been 1,71,920 covid tests conducted, with a positivity rate of 2.16%. The highest cases have been spotted at Sonitpur, Golaghat, Dibrugarh, and Tinsukia districts.
