Panic broke out briefly at Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Tuesday after security personnel reported the recovery of an object resembling a human skeleton. The discovery prompted an immediate response from airport security teams and the Delhi Police.
Following a preliminary inspection, police officials clarified that the skeleton was a demonstration model commonly used by medical students for educational purposes.
The item was found inside the luggage of a medical student, confirming that it was not connected to any criminal or suspicious activity.
Despite the clarification, Delhi Police said the skeleton has been sent for forensic examination to eliminate any remaining doubts. Officials stated that the scientific analysis would conclusively establish that the recovered item is a demo skeleton used for training and not actual human remains.
Security at the terminal was normalised shortly after the clarification, and airport operations were not disrupted.
