The district commander of the LeT for Kulgam and a colleague were slain in a brief shootout in the south Kashmir area on Wednesday, police said. Gulzar Ahmd Reshi, a local from Kulgam, was identified as the dead LeT leader by police, who said he was responsible for the killings of two non-local laborers in Wanpoh on October 17.

A joint team of police and Army killed the LeT commander and his associate in a brief encounter in the Sopat area of the south Kashmir district, according to news agency GNS, citing a senior police officer.
