The Income Tax Return Filing Deadline was extended by the Central Board of Direct Taxes from August 29 to September 30, 2021, from the original deadline of August 31, 2021. The most recent modifications were introduced under section 3 of The Direct Tax Vivad se Vishwas Act 2020, which stated the changes in the ITR filing deadline.
Despite this, the department stated that there is no plan to change the deadline for payment of the sum (plus additional amount) under the Vivad se Vishwas Act, which remains October 31, 2021. According to the June 25th notification, the last day for payment of the amount was August 2021.
