On Thursday, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh agreed to visit the installation event of new Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu, thereby ending concerns that he might skip the event.
On Friday, the ceremony will be held. Kuljit Singh Nagra and Sangat Singh Gilzian, two of the four working politicians of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC), met with Amarinder on Thursday afternoon to stretch two requests – one approved by more than 50 MLAs, and a personal letter from Sidhu to the chief minister encouraging him to the event.
After meeting with the chief minister, Nagra stated that he has consented to attend the event, which would be held at the Congress Bhawan in Chandigarh at 11 a.m. on Friday.
