Following the repeal of Article 370 in J&K, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Monday that 890 Central legislation is now valid in the state. She stated that what has been withheld from the people of J&K for the past 70 years will be granted to them. “It (the repeal of Article 370) has enabled what Dr. Ambedkar provided for the rest of the country for SC/ST to be made available to the people of J&K,” the finance minister said in the Lok Sabha.

According to Sitharaman, 1,198 startups have been incorporated in J&K. “To date, more than 200 businesses have been supported. During the Covid epidemic, 143 crores were supplied to MSME firms in J&K under the Emergency Credit Guarantee Scheme,” she said during a debate on the J&K Budget for 2022-23.
