Nearly 15,000 bank checks worth Rs 22 crore have been bounced as donations to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad for the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. This is stated in an audit report of the Shree Ram Janmabhoomi tirth kshetra, a trust created by the Center for the construction of the temple. It has been said in the report that 15,000 bank checks were bounced due to low amount in bank accounts or due to some technical shortcomings.
Trust member Dr. Anil Mishra said that banks are working to resolve technical glitches and they are asking people to donate again. Out of these checks, around 2000 checks were collected from Ayodhya. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) had launched a nationwide campaign to collect donations from January 15 to February 17. These checks were collected during this campaign.
Let us tell you that during this campaign an amount of about 5000 crores was raised, although the Trust has not yet released the final figures about the collected amount.
