In the wake of a debate over Salman Khurshid’s book on Ayodhya and a paragraph linking ‘Hindutva’ to terror groups like ISIS, the BJP’s Sambit Patra claims that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress have a “pathological hate” of Hinduism.
Mr. Patra’s remark came after Rahul Gandhi attempted to distinguish between ‘Hinduism’ and ‘Hindutva,’ a militant philosophy closely associated with the RSS, the ruling BJP’s ideological guru. Mr. Gandhi had a history of criticizing ‘Hinduism’ and its culture, according to the BJP leader, and it was in the Congress’ “nature” to attack Hinduism and “promote hatred” in society.
