YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the CM of Andhra Pradesh, today inaugurated 13 new districts in the state, bringing the total number of districts in the state to 26. According to the gazette published on Saturday night, all of the districts will be established today (April 4). At Tadepalli, Guntur district, Reddy broke and inaugurated the district lines through video conference. The provincial government had published a draught notice in January inviting recommendations and complaints to carve off 26 districts from the current 13 districts.
The YSR Congress administration of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy reorganized IAS and IPS personnel and assigned collectors and Superintendents of Police to the new districts soon after the notice was published.
