Prime minister Modi held a high level meeting on the situation of covid-19 in the country on Saturday. In this he expressed his displeasure over reports of ventilators lying unused in some states. He immediately instructed to get their accounts checked. All these ventilators hav been provided by the center to the state. However, there have been reports of their lying in storage in many states. PM took it seriously.
PM said that, if necessary, health workers in the rural areas should also be trained how to use the ventilators properly. In this meeting, PM emphasized on door to door testing and surveillance in view of the increasing danger of coronavirus in the villages.
Guidelines for home isolation should be made in easy language for the convenience of the villagers. Also, there should be a complete supply of oxygen in the villages.
