In February 2018, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited India for a week. The Prime Minister of even the smallest country does not have much time to devote seven days to a tour of any country. Canada is the second largest country in the world in terms of area. Then it was said that Justin Trudeau is one of the prime ministers of the world who have immense time. Globally, the Prime Minister of Canada does not have the capacity to listen to the whole world if he says something. Canada has neither dominance in the United Nations nor in the military business.
The seven-day visit to Trudeau was not given much consideration by the Modi government. It seemed that Justin Trudeau has come on a tour of India and wandered around silently for a week.
When Trudeau’s visit to India was anonymous
When Justin Trudeau arrived in New Delhi on 17 February 2018, he did not receive any high profile reception.
PM Modi sent his agriculture minister to welcome Trudeau. Whenever a leader visits India, Modi also welcomes him on Twitter, but during Trudeau’s visit, Modi did not tweet.
The rest of Trudeau’s tour was similarly anonymous. The Trudeau family went to see the Taj Mahal in Agra, but neither a chief minister nor a junior minister arrived to welcome him there. It was the district officials who turned Trudeau to the Taj Mahal. Trudeau Modi’s home state also visited Gujarat, but here too he roamed alone.
