War erupts between Mamata govt, Centre over Covid-19 data

All the states share a compiled list of Covid-19 cases with the Centre every evening. West Bengal has 10 districts in red zone.

According to sources, the West Bengal government is not sending Covid-19 data to the Union Health ministry on a daily basis.The opposition parties and West Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankar have accused the Mamata Banerjee government of under-reporting Covid-19 cases in the state.

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary also launched an attack on the West Bengal government and requested detailed data on the number of people infected with COVID-19 in the State so far.

“We have been requesting the government that the detailed data of the people infected with coronavirus in the State should be revealed. The West Bengal government is playing hide and seek with the common people so far as facts related to coronavirus are concerned,”

said Mr Chowdhury.
