Union Minister Thavarchand Gehlot launched the Sugamya Bharat app on Tuesday. It is a crowd sourcing mobile application. Along with this, he also launched a handbook called Access the Photo Digest. With the help of the app, people with disabilities will be able to register the problems related to the accessibility present in buildings, transport mediums or any infrastructure. For this, the photo will have to be uploaded on the app. They will also be able to get information on matters related to it through the app. The mobile app will also address issues related to corona virus by the Divyang. This app and handbook has been developed by the Department of Disability Empowerment under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The app has five main features, four of which are directly related to increasing accessibility, while the fifth is a special feature, which relates only to corona virus-related cases for the differently-abled. The app has been provided with many user friendly features like easy drop down menu, video sign language in Hindi and English, which show the process of registration and uploading of complaints along with photographs. It is available in 10 regional languages, including English, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Oriya, Kannada, Telugu, Gujarati, Punjabi and Malayalam.
