The pricing for vaccinations being distributed in private hospitals have been limited in the Centre. The maximum price for the Covishield is Rs 780. For the Covaxin, Rs1,410, and the Sputnik V Rs 1,145. The Ministry of Health of the Nation said in an order of Tuesday with a ceiling of Rs 150 that hospitals can charge each dosage as ‘service charges’ and a GST of 5%.
State governments should ensure that these price limitations are not broken and that the maximum cap is affected if the price of vaccination falls in the future.
