The Tripura High Court ruled that the statewide administration’s assertion that it had reached 98 percent of the 45-plus age category and 80 percent of the state’s population with the very first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine was false and ordered it to give an explanation. As per the government’s declaration, the state has 26.86 lakh eligible persons over the age of 18 and 12.36 lakh people over the age of 45.
The court further noted that 14,36,595 doses were delivered to persons aged 45 and older, with 5,66,458 receiving second doses. This would imply that around 9 lakh persons received the first dosage, which does not equal 98 percent of the qualified 12.36 lakh population.
