The Rajya Sabha fell into turmoil on Thursday when TMC members seized IT minister Ashwani Vaishnaw’s speech on the Pegasus spyware controversy started ripping paper and hurled it into the air. The madness ensued when Vaishnaw stood up to respond to the opponent’s allegations over the Pegasus affair. Some opposition groups, including TMC members, surged into the House well while yelling anti-government chants.
TMC member Santanu Sen took what seemed to be copies of the proclamation from Vaishnaw’s hands and tore it up. “This is intolerable,” Sen was quoted telling as he snatched the documents.
