The government said on Thursday, August 12th, that the Opposition must apologize to the nation, as several Union Ministers spoke at a press conference a short time after video of the ruckus in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday surfaced, showing members of the Opposition jostling with marshals in the Upper House.
Outsiders were brought in on Wednesday to manhandle MPs, according to the opposition, who spoke to the media on Thursday, complaining about the behavior and criticizing the administration for not allowing them to discuss issues during the Monsoon Session.
Meanwhile, the Vice-President secretariat told ANI that Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu examined the allegedly “unfortunate” sequence of events in the Parliament in a meeting with Speaker Lok Sabha Om Birla.
