The Congress blasted the administration on Sunday for the absence of the Rajya Sabha Chairman, Lok Sabha Speaker, and ministers from the traditional celebration commemorating Jawaharlal Nehru’s birth anniversary.
Jairam Ramesh, a Congress Rajya Sabha MP, claimed in a tweet that the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha and the Speaker of the Lok Sabha were both absent from the event, which he described as “unusual.”
He tweeted: “Extraordinary scene today in Parliament at the traditional function to mark the birth anniversary of those whose portraits adorn the Central Hall. Speaker Lok Sabha was absent. Chairman Rajya Sabha absent. Not a single Minister present. Can it get more atrocious than this?”
