The Union Cabinet approved the establishment of seven new mega textile parks on Wednesday, intending to put India on the global textile map. This measure will aid in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) into the textile industry, resulting in the creation of thousands of jobs.
Over the next five years, the Union Cabinet has approved a total outlay of Rs 4,445 crore to establish seven massive integrated textile regions and apparel parks (PM-MITRA). The integrated parks will be located at greenfield or brownfield sites in different states that are eager to join, according to the Union Cabinet, which shared a glimpse of the Modi government’s mammoth plant to enhance export and employment.
