Top security and intelligence officials from the United Kingdom, the United States, and Russia have arrived in India to examine the situation in Afghanistan in the aftermath of the Taliban’s capture of Kabul, as well as the ramifications for regional security.
Richard Moore, the head of the UK Secret Intelligence Service or MI6, was the first of the guests this week, and he was followed on Tuesday by William Burns, the director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
According to persons acquainted with the situation, both spy chiefs and their teams met with National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and key members of the National Security Council Secretariat.
