The country has prepared a third vaccine to eradicate the corona virus. The country will get a third corona vaccine that works on DNA. It is the country’s first DNA-based corona vaccine, prepared by Indian scientists after months of study.It is worth noting that only after taking three doses of this vaccine, sufficient amount of antibodies can develop against corona viruses in the body. This will be the second indigenous vaccine after kovaxin, prepared by the Ahmedabad-based Zydus Cadila company. It is worth noting that its discovery has also been done by scientists of NIV Pune and DBT department together.Zydus Cadila’s DNA-based ZYKovi-D vaccine is currently undergoing Phase III trials. 28,216 people are being tested in 28 hospitals across the country including Delhi. It is expected that the vaccine may come out by the early week of next month, after which the Indian government will allow use on emergency conditions. Not only this, along with Zydus, Russia can also get the much talked about Sputnik vaccine. Both these vaccines will have to be kept at 2 to 8 degree temperature. According to the Expert Committee (SEC) under the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), Phase III trials have been allowed on the vaccine for Zydus Cadilla on January 3. Testing has started at many centers. Dr. Rohit Jain of Divine Hospital in Wazirabad, Delhi said that Phase III trials are being started. He said that after the introduction of this vaccine, people will need to take three doses to get a complete protective cover. Actually, the Corona virus vaccination has been going on in the country since 16 January. 2.28 crore doses of Kovaxin and Kovishield vaccine have been provided to the states. So far 41 lakh people have been dosed. It is mandatory to take two doses of both these vaccines but one person of the new vaccine of Zydus Cadila Company will be required to take three doses.According to the Union Ministry of Health, work is currently underway on four types of corona vaccine, of which Zydus and Sputnik are undergoing final stage trials. There are many similarities between these two vaccines but three will be required for one and two doses of the other. Apart from these, two vaccines of Biological E and Geneva Company are also under human trials. One of these is based on M RNA technology.
