Surekha Sikri dies of cardiac arrest at the age of 75

Former Bollywood actress Surekha Sikri has died at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest. Her manager informed that the actress has been unwell for several months, and had suffered a brain stroke in 2020.

Former Bollywood actress Surekha Sikri has died at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest. Her manager informed that the actress has been unwell for several months, and had suffered a brain stroke in 2020.

In an interview with a leading daily, her manager said, “Three-time national award-winning actress, Surekha Sikri has passed away following a cardiac arrest earlier this morning at the age of 75. She had been suffering from complications arising from a second brain stroke. She was surrounded by family and her caregivers. The family asks for privacy at this time. Om Sai Ram.”

The three-time national award-winning actress is popularly known for her stellar performance in Balika Vadhu and Badhaai Ho. She made her Bollywood debut in the year 1978 with the political drama film Kissa Kursi Ka and played author-backed roles across films in various industries. She received the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress thrice, including Tamas (1988), Mammo (1995) and Badhaai Ho (2018).
