On Thursday, about a month after we experienced the unusual event of a total lunar eclipse, as well as a Supermoon and Bloodmoon, Earth’s natural satellite will look brighter and larger than usual in the night skies. The celestial event is noteworthy for two reasons: first, it is a Strawberry Moon, and second, it is a late Supermoon.
The Strawberry Moon is the last Full Moon of spring and the first Full Moon of summer. The northern hemisphere’s summer season began on June 21 with the Solstice, the year’s longest day.
