COVID-19 cases in India are on a rise as the total number of cases stand at 3,80,532, while the nation-wide death toll has crossed 13,500. The number of active infections as on Friday morning stood at 1,63,248. The rate of recovery in India is also steadily increasing, with 2,04,711 recoveries. Meanwhile, Delhi remained at the third position in the country in terms of positive cases as it recorded the biggest single-day spike on Thursday, adding 2,877 cases to take the total number of cases to 49,979. Notably, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain has also tested positive for the disease.
To provide relief to the common man in Delhi, HM Amit Shah constituted a committee under Member of NITI Aayog to fix rates charged by Pvt hospitals in Delhi for isolation beds, ICUs without ventilator support & ICUs with ventilator support. Committee has recommended Rs 8,000-10,000, Rs 13,000-15,000 and Rs 15,000-18,000 including PPE costs for isolation bed, ICUs without and with ventilator respectively to all hospitals, ANI reported.
