Minimum of 17 people were arrested by the Delhi police for putting up the posters that criticised the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s hadling of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to an ANI report, the Delhi Police which reports to the Union Home Ministry, said that it had also registered approximately 21 cases against the Defacement of Public Property Act and Section 188 in the matter.
India has already reported more that 3 lakh infections in a day over the past few weeks which has overburdened its healthcare system and has left many patients without hospital beds, oxygen and appropriate treatment.
Several other leaders have also criticised these arrests saying that it indicates a “lawless state of gone amuck”.
Am shocked &stunned. May vehemently disagree bt under what authority, what law, wht power can U arrest those who put up posters eg auto driver, printer, daily wager etc. This, like UP arrest of person who complained on losing his father, smacks of a lawless state gone amuck!

Putting up critical posters against PM is now a crime? Is India run by the Modi Penal Code now? Is the Delhi Police so jobless in the middle of a raging pandemic??
