Pope Francis has made Blessed Devasahayam Pillai and nine other people saints. On Sunday at 10 a.m., Vatican time, the Pope made a statement in this regard. The extraordinary religious ceremonies building up to the Canonization Mass began at St. Peter’s Basilica prior to the pronouncement. On this day, thousands of pilgrims congregated in St. Peter’s Square.

 

Blesseds Titus Brandsma, César de Bus, Luigi Maria Palazzolo, Giustino Maria Russolillo, Charles de Foucauld, Maria Rivier, Maria Francesca, Maria of Jesus Santocanale, and Maria Domenica Mantovani are among those who have been canonized alongside Lazzarus Devasahayam.
