Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched the Kindle version of Swami Chidbhavanandji’s Bhagavad Geeta through video conferencing. PM said that I would especially urge my young friends to take a look at the Bhagavad Gita. The teachings are highly practical and reliable. In today’s life, Geeta will provide peace. PM said that with the idea of the Kindle version Geeta, it will help in connecting the youth of the country.
Through video conferencing, PM said the importance of Bhagavad Geeta. He said that the beauty lies in its depth and diversity. Acharya Vinoba Bhave described Geeta as a mother who takes her in his lap when she stumbles. Great people like Mahatma Gandhi, Lokmanya Tilak, Mahakavi Subramanian Bharti inspired by the Geeta. PM, in his address, paid homage to Swami Chidbhavananda ji and said that his life – mind, body, heart and soul – was dedicated to the upliftment of India. PM said that to create wealth and value in the core of self-reliant India, not only for ourselves but also for the larger humanity of the country.
The event is held after selling over 5 lakh copies of Swami Chidbhavanandji’s Geeta. Swami Chidbhavanandaji is the founder of Sri Ramakrishna Tapovanam Ashram at Thirupparaithurai in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. Swamiji has written 186 books and all genres of literary composition. His scholarly work on the Geeta is one of the most comprehensive books on the subject. His Tamil version of the Geeta was printed in 1951. Then it was also printed in 1965 in English. Please tell that Bhagavad Geeta has also been translated into Telugu, Oriya, German, Japanese.
