On Sunday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik praised India’s men’s hockey team for making the Olympics semifinals for the first time in 49 years. The Chief Minister also sent his warm wishes for the last four games against Belgium, which are scheduled for August 3.
The Chief Minister expressed his delight at India’s triumph over Great Britain, saying the national squad had performed admirably in the quarterfinals. He expressed optimism that the squad will maintain its progress and win both the semifinals and the final at the Tokyo Olympics.
The Odisha government is the main beneficiary of the Indian men’s and women’s hockey players till 2023.
