Modi government is suffering the brunt of not being ‘self reliant’ of BJP in Punjab?

The farmers of the country are now beginning to voice their voice against the farmers of Punjab against the Modi government regarding the agricultural laws.  After the Agricultural Ordinance came to a boil, after the enactment of the Agricultural Law in Punjab, farmers organizations came on the road.  Initially, they restricted the movement to Punjab, but now for the last 12 days, farmers have camped on the borders of Delhi.
The Modi government could not even guess the displeasure of the farmers of Punjab, which is the main reason behind the BJP not being strong in Punjab on its own.  In such a situation neither the party succeeded in helping the farmers of Punjab nor could it understand the power of the farmers movement.
Actually, the BJP has been doing its politics in Punjab’s politics with the help of Shiromani Akali Dal for almost two and a half decades.  Out of the total 117 assembly seats in Punjab, BJP has been contesting in only 23 seats, due to which neither the party has mass base in the entire state nor does the party’s organization stand.  The fate of the BJP has been decided by the Akali’s performance in Punjab.  This was the reason that despite the intense Modi wave in the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP could not show great charisma in Punjab.  In the 2017 assembly elections, BJP could win only 3 seats, it got 5.4 percent votes.  With this, the BJP’s ability in Punjab can be gauged.
