Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu brought India its first medal at Tokyo Olympics 2020. The athlete won the silver medal in the women’s 49 kg category. Today, she took to Twitter account to convey her feelings after meeting her family after two years. There is a possibility that her post will win you over too.
She wrote, “This feeling of meeting my family after a long span of 2 years is beyond words. I’m grateful to each one of you for showing faith in me and supporting me. Thank you, Ema and baba for all the sacrifices you made for me to reach this level,” followed by two pictures with her parents.
No sooner did she tweeted her fans, friends and people across India showered love and their good wishes. The post gathered 56,000 likes which is still increasing. One of her fans wrote, “You’re one of the power-packed women of India! Enjoy the moment with your dear ones. Wish you reach greater heights” Another Twitter user wrote, “Family is one of the boosting factors behind every successful champion. Congratulations @mirabai_chanu and the whole family on winning the silver medal and making India proud,”
