In a further easing of Covid curbs in Maharashtra, amusement parks will be allowed to reopen on Friday, while stores and restaurants will be allowed to stay open past 10 p.m. Water rides, on the other hand, will stay closed to visitors at the parks, and new extended restaurant hours will be revealed soon.
The decision was made this afternoon at a meeting of the state’s Covid Task, which included Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. More relaxations are needed, according to the Nationalist Congress Party, which is part of the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi alliance, to help businesses recover losses caused by the Covid-induced lockdowns and subsequent restrictions.
