Priyanka Gandhi, the head of India’s main opposition Congress party, has said she will continue to protest and put pressure on the federal government until one of the country’s junior ministers, who is at the center of a political maelstrom, resigns and his son is imprisoned.
She told that: “You have a minister in the cabinet whose son has allegedly mowed down six people in public…. and you are refusing to take action? ”
Eight people were killed on Sunday in Lakhimpur Khiri, Uttar Pradesh when a car linked to junior home minister Ajay Mishra collided with farmers protesting controversial farm rules.
