Thomas Vijayan , who is from Kerala and currently settled in Canada, won the top prize for his “world is upside down” photo. Mr.thomas, took home a grand prize of 1500 pounds and title of Nature TTL photography awards. “ It’s one of those photos where you can’t skim past it. The unique perspective and composition means you are immediately trying to figure out what exactly you are looking at” said Will Nicholls, Founder of nature TTL.
“After spending a few days in borneo , i got this frame stuck in my mind” said Mr Vijayan , who hails from kerala and is now settled in canada. “To get this shot, I selected a tree that was in the water so that I could get a good reflection of the sky and its leaves on the tree. “Then I climbed up on the tree and waited for hours. This is a regular path for the orangutans to use, so patience would surely pay off” , he said. Mr. Thomas Vijayan takes great pleasure as he says that his photo’s success is a great way to spread awareness of the rapid decreasing rate of orangutan.
