On Tuesday, the chief minister of the Karnatak, BS Yediyurappa, announced that the government plans to open malls in the cities on certain terms. He expressed happiness at the reduction of COVID-19 cases in his speech to journalists.
After July 5, when the latest COVID-19 ‘Unlock’ standards come into effect, malls may be permitted to function with riders. The ‘Unlock’ Guidelines in most regions of the state allow many industries to operate but yet not allow air-conditioned stores, shopping facilities and malls to open.
Yediyurappa met the members of Shopping Centres Association of India who requested him to open malls next week.
