US President Joe Biden stated that China was attempting to portray itself as an accountable nation in response to the COVID-19 epidemic, but it remained unclear if Beijing was truly attempting to investigate the roots of the coronavirus.
When asked if he would refer to Chinese President Xi Jinping as “From an old friend to old friend,” Biden responded when asked to re-admit World Health Organization investigators: “Let’s have something straight: We respect each other well, but we’re not old friends. It’s all about business.”
Biden stated unequivocally that he remains dubious about China’s participation with the WHO probe.
