After state Home Minister Sukhjinder Randhawa threatened to investigate Aroosa Alam for ties to Pakistan’s spy organization ISI, former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh put up a vigorous defense of his friend, Pakistani defense writer Aroosa Alam.
“I suppose they are all also contacts of the ISI,” he wrote on Facebook after posting more than ten photos of the journalist with Indian leaders including Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, late Union minister Sushma Swaraj, and Union minister Ashwani Kumar.
The Congress’s harshest attack yet on Mr. Singh was the Punjab home minister’s threat to have Aroosa Alam examined. The 79-year-old Congressman had turned against the party after it backed Navjot Singh Sidhu in a heated year-long fight that concluded with his resignation from the top office.
