Doctors and front health workers at the centre of the Covid-19 management in Indonesia are reportedly fell sick and many died after being administrated the Chinese vaccine.

Sources said that the Indonesian Medical Association has informed that at least 20 doctors who have died since the pandemic began were fully vaccinated with Sinovac Biotech. 31 more people are registered as dead in the last five months is currently being looked into. Among them, there is Dr Suhendro Sastrowiwoho, a frontline medical worker in the town of Kudus in Java.

A report carried by New York Times on Friday stated that he has received a double dose of the Chinese-made vaccine. Even after that he tested positive for Covid-19 and died after few days on June 18. The report also shows that two nurses and a nutritionist, who had been fully vaccinated, also died this month in the same town.

The official report suggests that 358 medical workers of Indonesia are fully vaccinated with the Sinovac and later on tested positive for Covid-19 during a two-week span in the small town of Kudus. Less than 5% of Indonesia’s total population has currently been vaccinated. The inoculation campaign started way back in January. Those who have been vaccinated, most received doses of Sinovac, which is now being believed to be less effective against certain Covid-19 variants.

Not just Indonesia, Mongolia, Seychelles, and Bahrain has relied on easily accessible Chinese Covid-19 vaccines. They are also battling a surge in infections now.
