An Indian student succumbed in Ukraine, from a deadly disease, amidst rising tensions with Russia. Chandan Jindal of Punjab was a student at Vinnytsia National Pyrogov Memorial Medical University in Vinnytsia, Ukraine. According to reports, he passed away as a result of a heart attack.
His tragedy came only one day after an Indian student from Karnataka, Naveen Shekharappa, was killed in Kharkiv by Russian shelling. Immediately after the event, India requested that both Russia and Ukraine’s envoys facilitate “immediate safe transit” for Indian citizens who remained in Kharkiv and other combat zones.
